Glee will be back on Fox this season for Season 2.
Glee will be back on Fox this season for Season 2.

I love watching television shows. I know that’s not a popular thing to admit but why not? I don’t sit around every day for hours endlessly wasting my time watching TV, I just watch the shows I like to watch and my tivo has become my best friend for recording shows for me and letting me play them back when its fits my schedule.

As September rolls along all of the television stations will be premiering some of our favorite returning television shows, as well as, some new TV shows that might just become your new favorite TV shows.

Here is a break down by day, time and channel of what the TV schedule is for CBS, ABC, CW, NBC and Fox this fall. Remember to get your DVR’s set up with a season pass and pull out any of your DVD’s of your favorite shows so that you can be all caught up on what is going on with your favorite characters and shows.

**** 4 Stars means it’s a brand new TV show!

By the way, if you miss any of these shows you have some easy ways to watch tv shows online. Some of them are free and others might charge a dollar or two. I will put links at the bottom of where you can watch television shows online.

MONDAY

ABC

8:00 PM Dancing With The Stars- This season features Jennifer Grey who I think should be the favorite this year from her experience with Dirty Dancing

10:00 PM Castle (season 3)- This show is coming back for season 3 with mystery writer Richard Castle helping the NYPD with some of their crimes.

CBS

8:00: How I Met Your Mother- Have we met the mother yet on this show? I’ve seen a couple of previous seasons but am getting tired of not knowing who he ends up marrying. So if anyone else follows this show let me know and I will get the How I Met Your Mother DVD to see her! Not sure I can keep watching this if they don’t show her soon. Neil Patick Harris is... wait for it… awesome on this show and so is Buffy Alum Allyson Hannigan.

8:30: Rules of Engagement

9:00: Two and a Half Men

9:30 Mike and Molly ****: This is one show I am interested in seeing. I am not a huge fan of sitcoms but Melissa McCarthy was great as Sookie on Gilmore Girls and Dena on Samantha Who? I am hoping she can be a good frontrunner for this show and maybe persuade me to start watching a few more sitcoms.

10:00: Hawaii Five-0****: This remake classic will star Alex O’Loughlin from Moonlight (which I thought deserved another season) and one of my favorite Lost cast members Daniel Dae Kim. I think it definitely deserves a chance and I am interested in seeing if this remake can live up to its predecessor.

NBC

8:00: Chuck

9:00: The Event**** I was getting excited for this show but I think NBC has overdone the “He’s going to tell them about the event” promos. But I will set up the DVR to record this and see if the show is anymore creative than the commercials. I am looking for a good show to replace my serials of Lost and 24.

10:00: Chase**** This is one of a couple of shows that are going to have some Texas Characters. This by Jerry Bruckheimer has a lot of potential and should be along the lines of Fugitive and US Marshalls.

FOX

8:00- House
9:00- Lonestar**** Having just moved from Dallas Fort Worth Area I might need to watch this to get my Texas fix.***Update*** This has already been CANCELLED!

CW

8:00- 90210
9:00- Gossip Girl

ABC

8:00 PM- No Ordinary Family****
9:00 PM- Dancing With The Stars
10:00 PM- Detroit 187 ****:  I originally wasn’t too excited for this show and I am still not sure if I am.  However, having just moved to the Detroit area I might be checking it out.

CBS

8:00 PM- NCIS-  This is one of my favorite shows. I am looking forward to Gibbs and the gang being back and am glad they all were able to get their contracts straightened out.  I couldn’t imagine this show without Gibbs, Abby, McGee, Tony and Ziva.

9:00 PM- NCIS: Los Angeles
10:00 PM- The Good Wife

NBC

8:00 PM- The Biggest Loser
10:00- Parenthood-  I am looking forward to seeing the second season of this show.  Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls and all of the cast do a fantastic job on this show. This family seems real to me and I also like the awareness they are bringing to families that have children with Autism.

FOX
8:00- Glee-  I didn’t see this show when it first aired last season but have been laughing my way through the reruns.  I will probably need to rent the Glee Season 1 DVD too just to make sure I didn’t miss any.  The cast is amazing and Jane Lynch definitely deserved her Emmy.  This show is well worth watching just to see her acting.

9:00- Raising Hope****
9:30- Running Wilde****

CW

8:00- One Tree Hill-  This is another one of my favorite shows.  I haven’t enjoyed it as much since Peyton and Lucas left the show, but I can just pull out a copy of my One Tree Hill DVD with the seasons I like with them.  However, this show is well worth checking out just because the music on the One Tree Hill Soundtrack is great.  I have discovered a lot of great music by watching this show.

9:00- Life Unexpected-  Look forward to a crossover with Mia and Haley from One Tree Hill in October.  Still not sure how this show got renewed though.

WEDNESDAY TV Schedule

ABC
8:00 PM- The Middle- This is a great family sitcom. I love the Heck family and Patricia Heaton continues to show her talents with this show. If you haven’t watched this show yet give it a chance. I think you will be surprised. The Middle is definitely underrated.

8:30- Better With You
9:00- Modern Family
9:30- Cougar Town
10:00 PM – The Whole Truth

CBS

8:00- Survivor- I haven’t watched this show in a long time but it will be interesting to see how Jimmy Johnson, former Dallas Cowboys Coach, does.
9:00 – Criminal Minds
10:00 PM- Defenders****

NBC
8:00- Undercovers****
9:00- Law and Order Special Victims Unit
10:00- Law and Order Los Angeles****

FOX
8:00- Hell’s Kitchen

CW
8:00- America’s Next Top Model
9:00- Hell Cats****: I caught the series premiere of this show but am not sure how I feel about it. It definitely is giving a edgier vibe to this cheerleader like Peyton on One Tree Hill or Eliza Dushku, another Buffy Alum, on Bring It On. It fits the CW TV Schedule well though.

THURSDAYS

ABC
8:00 PM- My Generation**** This Show is already CANCELLED!!!" My generation just didn't appeal to viewers enough.
9:00 PM- Grey’s Anatomy- I started watching this show late and am not a huge fan of this show but the drama has pulled me in. Their season finale last season was one of the best I have ever seen. I am definitely anxious to see how Seattle Grace will handle the aftermath of the shooting in the hospital.
10:00 PM- Private Practice

CBS
8:00- The Big Bang Theory
8:30- Bleep My Dad Says****
9:00- CSI
10:00 – The Mentalist

NBC

9:00-The Office
9:30- Outsourced****
10:00 PM- The Apprentice

FOX
8:00- Bones
9:00- Fringe

CW
8:00- The Vampire Diaries- This season premiere opened up with some interesting surprises. Katherine Damon and Stephan’s old love is back to haunt Mystic Falls and in one episode has already wreaked havoc on this not so quiet town.  If you haven't yet, I suggest checking out Vampire Diaries Season 1 before watching this season.

9:00- Nikita****

FRIDAY TV Schedule

ABC

8:00 PM- Secret Millionaire****
9:00 PM- Body of Proof****
10:00 PM- 20/20

CBS

Personally, I am a little bitter with Ghost Whisperer getting cancelled last season even though the storylines were getting a little recycled.

8:00- Medium
9:00- CSI: NY- This is an attempt by CBS to revitalize Friday nights that continue to get lower and lower in ratings. They are hoping that they can use their CSI franchise to anchor some more nights.
10:00- Blue Bloods****

NBC

8:00- School Pride/ Who Do You Think You Are- Anyone who hasn’t seen “Who Do You Think You Are” Should Definitely check this out. It is a great show to watch with your family and inspire you to connect to your past. The shows so far have been inspiring. Each show features a new celebrity as they track down their ancestors.
9:00- Dateline NBC
10:00- Outlaw****  This show also has made it to the chopping block and is cancelled.

FOX

8:00- Human Target
