Boxsets are a great way to catch up on tv series or to see different bonus features that never aired on television and a One Tree Hill DVD is no different. I am a big fan of the show and will help direct you to where you can buy one tree hill on dvd, give you my own review, and let you know what bonus features are on One Tree Hill DVDs.

I don’t know what it is that I love so much about this show or what has kept compelling me to watch it over the years but I faithfully have when it was on the WB and when it moved to the CW schedule. Maybe it’s the love triangles, ridiculous dramas that unfold or maybe it’s the music, or the basketball or watching the characters as they just figure out who they are.

***Update*** One Tree Hill is renewed for Season 9!! It is expected to be only 13 episodes long but maybe we will finally get Peyton and Lucas back for a proper send off!

This show and a lot of its plots are so far beyond reality or at least my reality that you think I'd stop watching but let me tell you I have had some pretty “movie like plots” evolve in my own life many that no one really believes happened to me, so if I think the the story lines are far fetched that is saying something. But that is part of what I love most about TV shows. I love that they allow me to escape my own little reality even if it's just an hour a week or more depending on how many shows you watch.
Anyway, enough about me lets talk about One Tree Hill and how you can watch One Tree Hill seasons on dvd.

OTH Season 1 DVD

This is a must have for any One Tree Hill Fan! By far my favorite season of this show. I was hooked by the very first episode of two brothers that never had a relationship squaring off in a basketball match. They bet to see if Lucas could join the One Tree Hill Ravens team. I am a huge Leyton fan too for any of you other viewers out there (sorry any fans of Brooke and Lucas) and loved watching their relationship take all of its bumps and turns over the course of the season and following seasons. Moira Kelly, who once was in the Cutting Edge now plays the single mom of Lucas. I love her character and the support she shows Lucas over the course of the year. “There is only One Tree Hill”. Yep, it’s pretty cheesy but in its own way a little inspiring.

The Season 1 Boxset of OTH Bonus Features:

-Audio Commentary on 4 Episodes By Cast and Crew

-48 Minutes of Unaired Scenes with Commentary

-A Gavin Degraw unaired performance with introduction

One Tree Hill Season 2 DVD Review and Bonus Features

Season 2 starts out on an interesting note. Nathan and Haley have married, Dan’s had a heart attack and Lucas and Keith move back to Tree Hill after moving at the end of season 1. Brooke gets new neighbors Anna and Felix. I have to tell you I didn’t like either of these characters and didn’t like a lot of the story lines that revolved around Felix. Also, the two teenage newlyweds have some rocky bumps in the road. While I wasn’t a fan of many of the storylines there were so many more that kept me watching. I loved Uncle Cooper and I have to say that some of the best acting is done by the parents of the main characters, they really steal the scenes.

Season 2 DVD Bonus Features:

-Commentary on Select Episodes by Producer Mark Schawnn, Bryan Greenburg, Paul Johannson

-Backstage on the Concert Tour with Music From One Tree Hill

-Change is Good: A Clip about all the new characters on Season 2

-Diaries From the Set- Video from the charity football game

OTH Season 3 DVD Review

This season is also another one of my favorites and introduces yet another new character, Rachel. Nathan and Haley are still at odds over whether or not they should reconcile their marriage and yep, they are still in High School. Tutor girl even moves in with Brooke for awhile, I would of never saw that coming in season 1 but than again I couldn't anticipate most of the storylines.

One Tree Hill is a television show that despite its unrealistic overall plots hits home in others. Episode 16 really takes a serious note and tries to depict the tragedy of a school shooting. Peyton is shot and at the end of the episode a favorite character dies. This changes the whole dynamic of the rest of the season and the relationship of all of the characters. This was a great season to see the characters develop and mature especially Peyton as she dealt with the shooting and that she still has feelings for Lucas.

Season 3 DVD Bonus Features:

-Commentary on 2 episodes

-30 Minutes of Scenes that have never aired

-Anatomy of An Episode: Behind the scenes of" With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept"

-Gag Reel

But also watching Lucas deal with the loss of one of his best friends and uncle Keith, was interesting to watch. Having lost a family member about a year before this season I appreciated how it shows someone struggling with grief and figuring out what their life now means with such a big void in it. TV shows often skim over the surface when a character dies and somehow they all just live happily ever after within 2 weeks of them dying. This isn't the case in real life and although it doesn't make for the most uplifting programing I am glad they didn't short change grief.

The season finale with Haley and Nathan's wedding is a great episode leading up to a great season ender. I loved that they used the Led Zepplin song, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You." It was perfect for the scene. The One Tree Hill soundtrack and music are great. They do a wonderful job of picking music that creates the emotion of the scene.

One Tree Hill Season 4 DVD Review

Ok, this was another favorite season, probably my second favorite after season 1 because things are finally how I think they should be with the love triangle. In season 4, One Tree Hill and the Ravens are finally in the last season of high school. The infamous love triangle is finally narrowed down to 2 in this season. Lucas continues to deal with the loss of Keith and so is Dan who is being haunted by him. The truth of what happened the day Keith died will finally be revealed to all of the characters in a “It’s a Wonderful Life” style episode. Definitely watch episode 10, “Songs to Love and By Die.”

Every season seems to introduce Peyton to a new family member and this is another one where she meets her brother Derek, or does she? It turns out there is an imposter in the mix and he ends up stalking Peyton leading to yet another near death experience for P. Sawyer. She eventually does meet her real brother who helps her to overcome everything that happened with her stalker.

Bonus Features Season 4 DVD:

-Commentary on 3 episodes

- Unaired Scenes from the 4th Season

-"One Tree Hill in Your Town"

-Featurette with James Lafferty about the 4th Annual Basketball Charity

-One Tree Hill Time Capsule

-Gag Reel

Also, Karen is pregnant with Keith’s child. Rick Fox, former NBA player on the Lakers, guest stars in this season as someone trying to throw the basketball seasons so that Nathan can earn money for his and Haley’s baby that is on the way.

OTH Season 5 Review

The main downfall of most shows that revolve around teenagers are the seasons that come after they graduate from High School. Think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Dawson’s Creek. As soon as they graduated they had their jump the shark moments if they hadn’t already.
The producer of One Tree Hill, Mark Schawn, wanted to avoid this and tried to think of a fresh idea to create some new storylines for the characters we grew attached to. He did this by skipping forward 5 years. I was skeptical of how this would work since so many storylines still seemed up in the air but I was pleasantly surprised. The flash forward turned out well and they used flashbacks to the moments that would have happened in the past 5 years to show us some of the ones that changed the characters and how we knew them.

I have never seen a more successful group of people just 5 short years after high school but Lucas, Peyton, Brooke and Nathan were able to do it. Lucas has become an author, Peyton gets her own record label, Brooke has one of the most successful clothes lines in the world and Nathan has made it to the NBA. Nathan and Haley now have a 5 year old son, Jamie, and Nathan’s successes aren’t without some bumps in the road.

Season 5 Bonus Features:

-2 Commentaries Episodes

-Unaired Scenes

-One Tree Hill Flash Forward

-One Tree Hill at 100: The TV Series 100th Episode

-One Tree Hill Musical Stars: Some of the Musicians who have performed on OTH

- "Only Fooling Myself" Kate Voegle Music Video

-Gag Reel

OTH Season 6 Review

At the end of season 5, Lucas proposes to someone and we are left to wait until season 6 to find out to who. Yes, only on One Tree Hill would there be a proposal that the viewers are left wondering which of 3 girls a character proposed to. The outlandish storylines you have come accustomed to continue with kidnappings and deaths. This time the scary stalked comes in the form of Jamie's nanny. It kind of makes you think you should think twice before hiring a nanny and maybe invest in a nanny cam.

Dan finds himself stuck in a scenario similar to the movie “Misery” with Kathy Bates and in this season he tries to redeem himself. I kind of feel like he did. I kind of liked the change between bad guy to good guy. Of course, you always have to be suspicious of his motives. The new relationship of the year is between Skills (Nathan and Lucas’s Friend) and Nathan’s mom Deb.

The Sixth Season Bonus Features:

-One Tree Hill Celebrity Soundtrack: Features Music from the USO Tour

-Director's Debut- Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Galeotti all made their directorial debut this year

- 2 Episode Commentaries

-Gag Reel

-Featurette on Playing the new sport of Slamball

- Recreating The 1940's in "We Three"

OTH Season 7 Review

First of all, if you are wondering, One Tree Hill Season 7 DVD won’t be released until August 17th, 2010. This season had its work cut out for it. Like season 5 the creators had to reinvent the show after two of the main characters Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) left the show. Since Peyton and Lucas were my 2 favorite characters I have to say I wasn’t thrilled about this season but after 6 years I still am interested in the other characters so it still got Tivo'd. I wish I could say I anticipated the episodes week after week as I had done in the past but it just wasn’t the case.

People whose favorite characters are Nathan, Haley, Brooke and Mouth will probably still enjoy the show as they get a lot more screen time now that the other two are gone. New series regulars are Haley's Sister, Brooke's producer boyfriend Julian and Nathan's agent. I liked the storyline with the agent and his wife but did we need another stalker thrown in the mix?

Seventh Season Bonus Features:

-Unaired Scenes

-Spring Break on One Tree Hill: Featurette where to fans are put to the test working as production assistants on the show

-OTH Director Debut- Sophia Bush

-2 Episode Commentaries

-Gag reel

-Featurette Return to One Tree Hill: Talking about the new cast members added to the show
